My name is Theo Buttress. I was born in Cape Town, South Africa and was raised by very religious parents. We had very little but my late father, Henry Buttress and my mother, Edith Buttress, provided me with an education that opened a door for me to start pursuing any goal, ambition or lifestyle I wished to. My mother sold hats (church hats), worked as a material sales lady on the Cape Town Parade, and my father worked as a block-man/butcher, bus driver and chauffeur at Woolworth. This is how they paid for my schooling and the deposit on my first car. I at least had a Senior Certificate/Matric certificate (standard 10 – for the “baby-boomers”), and ventured into the unknown world of work. Little did I know where this journey would take me. This is my story….
